Lil Wayne Just Retired From Music Because Of Birdman
He's tired of asking for his cash money.
Lil Wayne has been having a pretty public rollercoaster ride with his record label Cash Money for years, who he says owes him lots of cash money and are holding his record hostage. He was shot at in 2015, and cops recently responded to a hoax call about gunshots going off at his place. On September 3rd, he tweeted “I AM NOW DEFENSELESS AND mentally DEFEATED & I leave gracefully and thankful I luh my fanz but I'm dun.”
He received a number of responses from big name musicians, like Missy Elliott and Chance the Rapper, all encouraging to keep his head up and stay in the game.
Lots of people believe in Weezy, but it may be too late. TMZ is reporting that it looks like Lil Wayne is heading for retirement.
On Tuesday, Lil Wayne appeared on Undisputed on FS1, where Skip Baylass asked right away if he was following through on his Twitter threats. He responded that yes, unless Birdman pays up and releases Tha Carter V, he is done. He says, “I have a family. I have kids. I have a mother. We have bills. This is just business."
I guess he'll go back to breaking artists and running his own label, but is that tainted with the joint venture with Birdman? Only time will tell.
