Model Aamito Lagum Is Unbothered By Racists On Instagram

"My lips giving you sleepless nights."

Winner of Africa's Next Top Model season 1 Aamito Lagum faced the Internet's nasty side after MAC Cosmetics posted a gorgeous picture of her lips to promote a new makeup color. Is it shocking that in the year 2016 an image of a black woman's mouth would spark so much racist ire? We literally don't know anymore.

Anyway, here's the image:

Garnering over 35,000 comments, the image incited backlash from racists, followed by backlash against the backlash supporting the image of the model and MAC Cosmetics for sharing it.

But what does the Lagum herself think of the controversy? Girl, she ain't bothered.

Here's Aamito sharing an article about the explosive comments with the most perfect caption ever:

"My lips giving you sleepless nights."

Crown it. This woman is a queen.

Meanwhile, MAC was similarly unapologetic about the original post:

While the showing of pride in diversity is surely important, Jezebel's article on the Intsagram scandal (Instagrandal?) ends on a rather sobering note: "Even though POC representation was a focal point of this season’s NYFW ... from shows put on by retailers like Hood by Air and fashion icons like Kanye West, data collected from last season revealed that less than five percent of models were non-white."
