The Like A Boss mentor and media mogul became close friends with the singer following her debut on America's Got Talent Season 6, while hosting. The "Did I" singer finished in 4th place, but kept close ties with the man who she now refers to as a "father figure."

He came from a standpoint of someone I had met a long time ago on America’s Got Talent.
