Drake announced on Wednesday that he’d be cancelling several dates of his tour to rest a bad ankle. How did he hurt it? Did he play basketball in gold sneakers? Did he try to kick down a door to get to a party? Was he just doing one of his drunk dad dance moves? We don't know.
Either way, his press release in shouty all caps makes it clear that the doctors are telling him to give it a rest.
He wrote on his blog: “I hate to be told I can't do something, but under doctor's orders to allow me time to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support...I am crushed to even be typing this announcement because I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down. I only want to give you the best show you deserve, I promise — I will make it up to you.”
He’ll be specifically missing out on Toronto, Philly and Newark, but the dates may be rescheduled in future. Drake promises, “I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN WITH NEW MUSIC AND A STRONGER ANKLE.”
New music? Okay, I’ll wait for that.
