Rapper Diamond Aims To Be The Next Gwen Stefani
No doubt Diamond has good taste.
If you’ve ever watched Sisterhood of Hip Hop, you know that Diamond, who got her start at 14-years-old in the group Crime Mob, oozes with style. When asked which female artists have inspired her, we weren’t surprised to hear her mention veterans of the rap game like Missy Elliott, Da Brat, Little Kim and Foxy Brown.
But we were surprised she talked mostly about pop star Gwen Stefani, who she says is “so fashion-forward.” Noting that the two both started in male-dominated groups in “a male-dominated game,” Diamond said: “I saw that she overcame that challenge and was able to stand alone and take things to the next level by having her own clothing line, her own bag line.”
Could we have a new mogul in the making? If Diamond gets her way, yes. She says her goal is to “take music as my foundation but most important, take myself and my name in everything that I’ve created and turn it into an enormous brand.” Watch how Diamond gets ready for the red carpet and don’t be surprised if she comes out with the next L.A.M.B.
