'RuPaul's Drag Race' Champion's Mother Injured In Terrifying Gun Violence

"This could have been you, or worse this could have been your mother."

America fell in love with New York legend Bob The Drag Queen this past year following her stunning and witty performances on RuPaul's Drag Race. Bob eventually took the crown as champion, but not before sharing devastating stories about her mother's chronic illnesses. Now, Bob's family is facing a harrowing encounter with gun violence as her mother recovers from an injury caused by a stray bullet. Although Bob is insiting that she's fine, the accident is mobilizing the already-overtly political queen to take action in favor of gun control.

Bob shared the story of her mother's injury on Facebook just yesterday:

TMZ followed up with police on the story, confirming that a gunman hopped out of a car and took aim at another man. Bob's mother was about a block away when bullets struck her window, causing glass and other fragments to injure her face.

"This could have been you, or worse this could have been your mother," says Bob in the above Facebook post.

And if you really want to cry, here's Bob talking about her mom on Drag Race:

We're wishing Martha Anna Caldwell a speedy recovery.
