Ryan Lochte Got Rushed On Stage By Protesters During 'Dancing With The Stars'
Clearly, they haven't forgiven him.
Ryan Lochte is on his redemption tour as a fun reality show dancer. The sooner we forget his embarrassing series of lies about being robbed at gunpoint during the Rio Olympics, the better—at least for him. Unfortunately for his plans, there are a lot of people who don’t want to forget how he shamed America while representing us.
Two people stormed the dance floor at the Dancing with the Stars premiere as Lochte took the stage with his partner Cheryl Burke. Since the show is live, there were several moments of Lochte looking confused and judge Carrie Ann Inaba yelling, “Excuse me!” before ABC cut to commercial.
In this clip you can see the general peanut gallery vibe at the taping, as well as some other Lochte protesters wearing shirts with his name crossed out in red.
The two men who came on stage were identified as Barzeen Soroudi and Sam Sotoodeh, and they were indeed trying to make everyone remember a certain pee-stained gas station and how Lochte is dangerous to America, according to Hollywood Life. They’ve been charged with misdemeanor trespassing by the LAPD.
Lochte went on to dance, though CNN reports that his feelings were hurt by the protest, saying, “You know, at that moment, I was really heartbroken… My heart just sunk. It felt like somebody just ripped it apart."
But he brushed it off and danced again, almost like there are no consequences for starting an international incident while drunk in a foreign country.
