The Internet Wants This Gay Porn Star To Be Mike Pence So Badly

The identity of the porn star has been revealed.

As if all of the reports on fake news fueling the Donald Trump election weren't already too much, a viral image of a gay porn star who bears a striking resemblence to Vice President-Elect Mike Pence has been making the rounds, with some believing the photo is actually real, incriminating evidence to be used against the notorious anti-gay bigot.

Snopes notes the image first popped up on MySpace (yes, that's still a thing), eventually making it's way over to Facebook:

Many were quick to believe the truth of the meme, knowing the voracity of psychological precepts like reaction formation — which suggest that many gay people become homophobes as a way of repressing their own gay desires. And while reaction formation is a very real phenomenon, that's not what's happening here.

The found image is actually of gay adult film star Brad Patton, who Buzzfeed notes is "also a talented figure skater, earned himself a silver medal at the 2006 OUT games in Montreal."

Our favorite reaction to the meme, which offers a stark perspective on reality, comes from comedian Louis Virtel:

You see, this whole thing is funny because every queer person is terrified of losing their rights and so we laugh so we do not cower in fear.

Anyway: the internet is full of lies.
