Tracy Morgan Nails SNL Comeback Performance
Tracy Morgan is officially back in the game.
Tracy Morgan made his triumphant return to Saturday Night Live tonight, and it was totally epic. The SNL alum already proved that no topic would be too delicate for him during the promos that aired during the week; in the 30-second commercials, Tracy made light of the brain injuries he suffered from the 2014 car accident that left him in a coma, joking "Did I used to work here? I don't remember." Die hard fans were also treated to his signature joke: "I'm gonna get everyone in this building pregnant!"
Tracy was an SNL regular for more than five years, and his return to the stage to deliver his monologue was eagerly-awaited. Tonight's hosting gig was Tracy's first performance since the horrific car accident that claimed the life of his friend and fellow comedian, James McNair.
Tracy jumped right into it, acknowledging that audiences were worried about his ability to function normally, and joking about his recovery process: "I know you're wondering: Does he have 100% mental capacity? But the truth is I never did!"
Following his opening monologue, Tracy's 30 Rock family briefly joined him on stage as a show of support (sooo heartwarming). From there, the episode was filled with guest stars, from Alec Baldwin to Larry David to Tina Fey, and harped on current topics like the Democratic Debate. Tracy also revived some of his most well-known characters, like Brian Fellow, Astronaut Jones, and Woodrow the Homeless Man, and held his own in every sketch he was in. He may not have hosted SNL since 2009, but it's safe to say that Tracy's still got it.
