Twitter Engage May End Celebrity Trolling Forever

Social app protects celebrities from annoying tweets.

Twitter cares about the cool kids of the world. The social media platform has launched a new app catering to celebrities and super popular people that may end trolling forever.

According to Wired, Twitter Engage is meant for people with huge followings like Justin Bieber and President Barack Obama who can't engage with Twitter because their timelines are spammed with so much noise. Think of it like a social media V.I.P. experience. Engage is streamlined into three tabs: One for posts, one for analytics, and one for tracking other influential people who are following you or engaging with your tweets. There's also no "Moments" section--because duh, celebrities don't care about what's going on in the world outside of their social circle.

"Twitter seems to almost want to create a mini-Twitter for the one percent, so they can talk to and follow each other without the noise of the commoners," the outlet says.

Do you think Twitter Engage is smart or elitist?
