Tyler Perry Is Making A Madea Halloween Movie
For her next on-screen adventure, Madea will be fending off killers, zombies, and ghosts.
We've seen Madea go to jail, we've seen her at family reunions, and this October, Tyler Perry's most popular character will be getting into all sorts of supernatural shenanigans.
Production on a Madea Halloween movie—titled Boo! A Madea Halloween—has begun, Perry and Lionsgate announced earlier this week. The film is being shot in Atlanta, and according to a press release, Madea "winds up in the middle of mayhem when she spends a hilarious, haunted Halloween fending off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls, and zombies while keeping a watchful eye on a group of misbehaving teens."
Funnily enough, the film started out as a joke. A fake Madea Halloween movie was referenced in Chris Rock's 2014 film "Top Five," and Lionsgate later approached Perry about making the film a reality.
