A Waitress Shared What Wearing Heels For 8 Hours Does To Your Feet
Those shoes weren't made for walkin', and Nicola Gavins is over it.
High heels are a committment, especially when they're worn all day. A waitress in Canada shared what wearing heels for an entire eight-hour day looks like. Disclaimer: It looks painful!
Nicola Gavins took to Facebook to post a photo of her bleeding feet after working her shift at Joey's Restaurant in Edmonton.
"Their policy is still that female staff wear heels unless medically restricted, my friend's feet were bleeding to the point she lost a toe nail and she was still discouraged and berated by the shift manager for changing into flats," she wrote in a post now shared over 11,000 times.
Nicola pointed out that male employees can wear whatever shoes they like, and urged customers to boycott the restaurant. "I have many friends in the service industry and know loads of ladies who still earn great tips without having to sacrifice their comfort while serving. I'll choose to continue supporting those establishments."
