Cardi B has more than enough reason to celebrate this week. The rapper made history when her single "Bodak Yellow" reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week; Cardi is the first solo female rapper to achieve such a feat since Lauryn Hill did it almost 20 years ago in 1998.
Cardi shared the moment she first read the news in a short clip posted on Instagram earlier this week, People reports. She promptly lost it, jumping up and down and even singing Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" at one point (a song that she, coincidentally enough, knocked out of the top spot with "Bodak Yellow").
"Before the whole BIG SURPRISE...Somebody call me and told me to check the Chart data .I was shleeping and I woke the f*ck up !!!!" Cardi wrote in the caption.
Atlantic Records threw a huge party to celebrate Cardi's accomplishment, and in footage posted by The Shade Room, Cardi can be seen getting emotional while looking at her celebratory gold plaque before delivering a super heartfelt speech thanking her friends and family. Check it out below.
