TMZ reports that after Drake and Future finished performing at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix on Tuesday, Drake returned to one of the tour buses they shared only to learn that a burglary had taken place. The thief stole a briefcase filled with jewelry, estimated to be worth $3 million, and belonging to Drake's DJ, Future The Prince.
After reviewing security footage from the venue, an arrest was made yesterday. Phoenix Police arrested 21 year-old Travion Lamar King on Wednesday; King had already been arrested and taken to the Maricopa County jail earlier that day on suspicion of criminal trespassing on Arizona State University property. A spokesman for police say King was recognized from the surveillance footage due to his history of working at local concert venues.
The jewelry has been recovered and returned to its rightful owner, but one question remains: who keeps jewelry in a briefcase? Is that the dramatic male equivalent of a jewelry box?
The world will never know. In the meantime, check out this video of Drake losing it after he finds out what's happened (though if you ask him, he'll insist he wasn't robbed, which is technically true).
