Ever since the creation of the Cronut, everyone's been awaiting the dessert king Chef Thiago Silva's next innovation. We've seen others compete with the Platinum Patron-infused donut, the inception donut, and the donut ice cream cone to name a few. Well, rest your little pastry piping bags, competitors-- the latest new craze has arrived.

In February, Silva premiered the cinnamon roll doughnut at Catch Restaurant in New York City. But now, there's something much greater: the birthday cake croissant.

 “I was kinda surprised," said one food critic. He mixed the sprinkles into the batter, which [Thiago] says has never seen anyone else do." The funfetti-filled croissant swirls with colors of deliciousness all around, and it looks like the greatest creation that could ever hit your mouth early in the morning -- especially if it's your birthday. The crispy layer on the outside, with the soft, melting fluffy interior looks like the only thing that can console me on a rainy night.
