According to the Washington County Observer-Reporter, Wiz's mom, Katie Wimbush-Polk, is suing Rose for defamation over a phone call Rose allegedly made to a third party in June.
According to Wimbush-Polk's attorney, Rose made a call to a phone line linked to Wimbush-Polk's account; that day, the phone was in possession of her friend and former employee, Danesa Letic, and Letic's 5-year-old niece answered the call, at which point Rose "launched into a profane attack," Wimbush Polk claims.
Letic's niece gave the phone to her aunt, who then identified herself to Rose; the suit alleges that Rose continued her tirade about Wimbush-Polk despite knowing that she was talking to a third party, and brought up Wimbush-Polk's daughter Dorien, who passed away in February due to complications from lymphoma. Rose allegedly said that Wimbush-Polk had allowed her own daughter to die and that she was unfit to care for Rose and Wiz's 4-year-old son Sebastian.
Rose's call may have been the result of her believing that Wimbush-Polk made a report about Rose's parenting to California child welfare services, who visited Rose on the same day that Rose made the call to Wiz's mother. However, Wimbush-Polk claims in her suit that she "made no such report at or around that time."
Wimbush-Polk's suit claims that Rose's comments were intended to harm her reputation, and "impute(d) criminality, which is incompatible with her status as a grandmother and her status as a volunteer mentoring at-risk youth."
Wimbush-Polk is asking for damages of more than $50,000, including court costs, interest, punitive and other damages.
TMZ reports that Rose plans to get a restraining order against her former mother-in-law; according to TMZ's sources, Amber believes that Wimbush-Polk's defamation lawsuit is all about getting revenge on Rose for leaving Wiz, and she doesn't want to expose herself or her son to Katie's negative feelings toward her.
At present time, neither party has spoken publicly about their legal battle.
