Woman Alleges L.A. Lakers Harassed Her In Viral Instagram Post
One of the accused is Iggy Azalea's fiance.
One woman's Instagram post has the Los Angeles Lakers investigating sexual harassment claims against two of its players.
Alexis Jones, an activist trying to stop athletes from committing sexual harassment, sexual abuse and domestic violence, said two players—later identified as Nick Young and Jordan Clarkson—harassed her and her mother in Hollywood.
"I pray these pics go viral because THIS is the problem with little boys. Five minutes ago, at the intersection of Melrose and La Bre here in LA, a jeep of four boys pulled up at a red light and started yelling and making the most disgustingly vulgar gestures at my mom and me," she wrote on Instagram. The post has been removed but screen grabs have gone viral. "I rarely rant' about things but this is the f%+#ing problem and the reason I've now dedicated my life to educating young men about respect, not just for women but for everyone. I'm angry. I'm insulted. I'm hurt. They were laughing hysterically until they realized I was filming them and immediately they panicked like the cowards they are."
A spokesman for the Lakers tells ESPN that they are "very seriously" looking into the allegations. Alexis has experience working with athletes on the topic of respecting women. "I've been inspired by how the Lakers have responded," she tells the sports hub.
The player identified as Jordan Clarkson is 23 years old while Nick Young, famously known as Iggy Azalea's fiance, is 30.
