You Won't Believe What The 'Degrassi' Cast Looks Like These Days
After Drake reunited with yet another Degrassi cast member last week, we couldn't help wondering what the rest of the gang was up to.
Jimmy and Hazel forever? Drake had us all in our feelings when he posted a pic of him and Hazel - I mean, actress Andrea Lewis, who starred alongside him during his years on the hit Canadian teen sitcom, Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Hazel and Drake's character, Jimmy Brooks, were a thing for like 3 seasons until Jimmy caught feelings for Ellie, but let's not even go there right now. We all know where Drake ended up, but what happened to the rest of the cast? Thank God for Instagram, or else we'd never know. Prepare to get hit with a wave of Feelings.
1. Lauren Collins/Paige Michalchuk
Resident HBIC at Degrassi, Paige was someone you either wanted to be like or completely hated. These days, Lauren Collins can be found doing hosting work and starring in the short film Zero Recognition.
2. Miriam McDonald/Emma Nelson
Her days portraying a pre-teen activist long behind her, Miriam has since quit acting and is now killing it in the real-estate game.
3. Cassie Steele/Manny Santos
While most of us remember her for that infamous thong episode, what you may not know is that, in addition to acting, Cassandra Rae "Cassie" Steele is also a singer-songwriter. Just see for yourself.
4. Melissa McIntyre/Ashley Kerwin
After falling off the radar for a while, Melissa resurfaced back in 2012 as one of the singers in the band Fortune, which was formed by INXS vocalist JD Fortune.
5. Andrea Lewis/Hazel Aden
Drake's former boo took a string of minor acting roles on both the stage and screen before creating and starring in her own web series, Black Actress, which is currently available on Issa Rae's (of Awkward Black Girl fame) YouTube channel.
6. Stacy Farber/Ellie Nash
Ellie was the original emo kid, and we loved her for it. To date, Stacy's most recent role was starring in the 2010 sitcom 18 to Life, where she portrayed a teenager who marries the boy next door.
7. Sarah Barrable-Tishauer/Liberty Van Zant
After graduating from Concordia University in Montréal in 2012 with a B.A. in Communication Studies and Computation Arts, Sarah became the Digital Marketing Coordinator for experiential tour company Urban Adventures.
Believe it or not, Spinner is still a drummer (and he doesn't have that platinum blond hair anymore, thank God). Shane has had a few minor acting roles over the years, and is currently the drummer for the Toronto-based band Dear Love.
9. Jake Epstein/Craig Manning
Jake continued to pursue music and acting following his days at Degrassi high, and made his Broadway debut as the alternate for the lead role in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark in 2012. He later starred in the Broadway musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical in 2014.
10. Jake Goldsbie/Toby Isaacs
After studying theater at Concordia University in Montreal, Jake began writing and editing sports content for The Score.
11. Ryan Cooley/J.T. Yorke
If you watched Degrassi back in its heyday, chances are you're probably still heartbroken over J.T.'s death. But what's Ryan Cooley up to these days? To be honest, it's unclear. In his Twitter bio, he describes himself thusly: "actor, tech enthusiast, Sinatra." Make of that what you will.
12. Adam Ruggiero/Marco Del Rossi
Adamo Angelo Ruggiero can now be seen on his Youtube channel, The Dot with Adamo, where he describes himself as "an ex-child addicted to T-Swift ballads," proving that even in real life, Marco is still the cast member you'd most want to be friends with.
13. Daniel Clark/Sean Cameron
These days, Degrassi's resident bad boy is a self-proclaimed news junkie, serving as producer and news correspondent for the Fusion network. In the past, he's worked for Nightline and ABC World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer, and his eyebrows are still slaying to this very day.
14. Christina Schmidt/Terri MacGregor
Remember how after all that stuff happened with Rick, Terri just kind of disappeared off the face of the Earth? Well, apparently she left town and started a new life as a glamorous model. Go Terri!
