We asked the tattoo artists of Best Ink to tell us about their experience with body art. Heres what Roman had to say.

Q: What initially attracted you to tattoo art?
A: My grandfather is an artist so I was exposed to art at a really young age. Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Tattooing was another way to be creative and when I learned I could make a living and not have to get up a 5am to do road construction for the rest of my life it seemed like a perfect fit.
Q: What is the difference between a "tattooist" and an "artist?" Is being a "tattooist" a job or a lifestyle?
A: "This aint a fucking costume Holmes. Its a way of life." Ha ha. An artist uses brushes on canvas with paint. If they make a mistake it isn't that big of a deal. A tattooist uses needles and inks, and our canvas is skin. With skin, you cant make a mistake.
Q: Who does your own tattoos?
A: Nikko, Mike Cole, Ron Eardhart, Adrian Domminic, Carson Hill, Nate Beavers, Mike Damasi, Mike Devries, Craig Driscol, Ray Williams, Shawn Z, Enigma, and Rick Walters.
Q: What celebrity tattoo do you think is the best?
A: Most celebrities have crap tattoos. I think the one who has the best tattoos is Sylvester Stallone. He has been tattooed by some really good artists and seems like he has done his research looking for a good artist.
