A 12-year-old boy is accused of a violent attack on an 80-year-old woman in New York City. According to PIX11, the boy punched the elderly woman in the face and had previously attempted to set her on fire in an unprovoked attack in Brooklyn.

WABC reports the woman was sitting in front of her Gravesend home on Saturday when the boy approached her and terrorized her. Reports say this was at least the fourth time the boy has attacked this victim.  Police say the attacks included instances where the boy punched her in the face, hit her with a metal rod, and on one occasion tried to light her coat on fire.

Authorities say it's unclear how—if at all—the boy knew the woman.

PIX11 has surveillance footage from a nearby restaurant of the boy. The restaurant's owner described him as causing trouble, saying that he spit at customers and stole $15 from the tip jar.

The boy has since been taken into custody for the attack on the elderly woman. He faces charges of assault and menacing.
