15-Year-Old Girl Has Father Murdered Because He Disapproved Of Her Boyfriend

"We believe that this was something that has kind of been in the works and that all three of them conspired for this to happen."

Police in Medford, Oregon say a 15-year-old girl arranged to have her father killed because he disapproved of her relationship with her 19-year-old boyfriend. Ellen Friar was taken into custody Monday, along with her boyfriend Gavin MacFarlane, and associate Russell Jones, 22, for the murder of 50-year-old Aaron Friar, according to CBS affiliate KTVL 10.

Though only 15, police say Ellen Friar will be triad as an adult.

Early Monday morning, police were sent to the Friar’s home to perform a welfare check. According to ABC affiliate KDRV 12, police discovered signs of a break-in to the Friar’s home where they discovered scenes of a “disturbance,” as well as a missing vehicle. Later that morning they found the dead body of Aaron Friar, dumped on a dirt road, as well as his abandoned car. The suspects were soon found walking nearby and detained.

According to friends, Ellen Friar’s parents were initially “OK with their relationship,” but that changed when they learned MacFarlane’s age and that the couple were sexually active. Family acquaintance Christopher Snow told KTLV, “I'm thinking is that they found out that he was too old to where it was statutory, so they got into a dispute."

Police believe Aaron Friar was murdered in his sleep, however, autopsy results are still pending to determine the exact cause of death. Lt. Justin Ivens of the Medford Police Department told KDRV, "We feel that this is sort of a planned attack. We believe that this was something that has kind of been in the works and that all three of them conspired for this to happen."

Friar, McFarlane and Jones have all been charged with one count of murder, one count of First Degree Robbery, and one count of Tampering with Evidence. McFarlane also faces one count of Third Degree Rape for his sexual relationship with Friar, who is underage. McFarlane and Jones are being held in Jackson County Jail, while Friar is being held at Jackson County Juvenile Detention Facility, however, prosecutors have made it clear they intend to try Friar as an adult.
