Five nurses at Denver Health Medical Center were suspended for three weeks for opening a body bag to look at a patient’s genitals. According to Denver7, a hospital employee witnessed the five nurses admiring and talking about the deceased man’s body, and she reported it to hospital staff.
“Multiple staff members viewed the victim while he was incapacitated, including after he was deceased,” a Denver Police report says. “The complainant, Risk Management for Denver Health, made a mandatory report.”
Denver Police told Denver7 that they have responded to the incident. However, they decided to let the hospital handle the issue internally.
It has not been disclosed which unit of the hospital the nurses work in.
According to WTVR, one of the nurses no longer works at the hospital for reasons unrelated to this incident.
