A young girl is believed to be involved in the death of a toddler who was left unsupervised in a Michigan home daycare.

According to a Fox affiliate, the toddler's body was found concealed in a bedroom Friday morning. Korey Brown, 1, was found dead by his mother when she went to pick him up from the daycare that day. Bryanna Reasonover told FOX 17 that she found her son's body in a playpen when she went to pick up three children she had dropped off the previous night. Reasonover claimed her son's body was covered in bruises and bite marks, which police later confirmed.

An 8-year-old is now being called a 'person of interest’ and all witnesses in the case are children, police officials said. The 8-year-old girl was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation. The cause of the infant's death is not yet known.

“I think another kid at the daycare did it,” said Reasonover. “I’m pretty sure another kid at the daycare did it. Why would you do something like that to a 1-year-old?”

Authorities said the children were left alone for an unknown period of time, according to the New York Daily News.

The mother also expressed anger that an adult at the daycare was not supervising the children properly. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Reasonover cover the baby’s funeral costs.
