The infant, Korey Brown, was found dead Friday morning when his mom, Bryanna Reasonover, went to pick him and two other children up from his Michigan daycare center.
Reasonover found her son unresponsive in a playpen with bruises and bite marks on his body. He was pronounced dead at 8 am.
“It’s very frustrating to not know what happened, to know he was suffering when all he probably wanted was his mommy,” she said in an interview with the Detroit Free Press.
Workers at the daycare center did not notice anything was wrong with the infant, and allegedly left the baby unsupervised for an unknown period of time.
"I have all indications that they were in the house, they could have been on another floor, they could have been resting," said Muskegon Police Chief Jeffrey Lewis to WZZM-TV. "I do not know what they were doing, but I do know they were not in this area or this would not have occurred."
When the infant cried at one point, the young girl stepped into help, police claim, though they are not sure if she killed the child purposefully or by accident.
She is being interviewed about the death by police and a child psychology expert.
