Now is the time of year that the open adornment of your own outfit with severed body parts is celebrated. But when police noticed one homeless woman's Halloween decor was perhaps slightly too realistic, they took action and discovered the skull she was wearing as an accessory was actually that of a real human, leading them to an actual decomposing corpse.
According to The Washington Post, this all went down in Sacremento, California earlier this week. Police stopped the woman at an abandoned house (spooky!), where she eventually led them to a homeless camp close by. That's where police found the body.
Coroners are now investigating the body to see what actually went down. The body has not yet been publicly identified, nor has the cause of death been determined.
In the meantime, maybe we should all be sticking with autumnal decorations that veer on the side of spoopy rather than medically accurate.
