French police arrested at least 16 people in the robbery of reality star Kim Kardashian at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room, they announced Monday.
Authorities arrested the suspects in early morning raids from three different cities. The suspects are still being questioned, NBC News reported, and no one has yet been charged with the intrusive theft.
In early October, Kardashian was tied up, gagged, and kept in her bathtub by two masked men holding guns, who proceeded to steal more than $10 million in jewelry from the mother of two and wife to rapper Kanye West. The thieves apparently knew how to exploit the light security, leading to some speculation that this was an inside job by hotel staff or Kardashian’s security team.
One of Kardashian’s diamond rings was worth $4.5 million alone, according to estimates at the time of the robbery.
Kardashian was uninjured in the theft, but possibly traumatized—she only recently resumed posting on social media after a three-month silence, unusual for a woman whose job is being very publicly a Kardashian. [Photo: Getty Images]
