Indian athlete Kiante Enis was sentenced on Wednesday to 240 days in jail for having sex with a 13-year-old girl. The 19-year-old man pleaded guilty to child solicitation, according to the Star Press. Enis will also serve 240 days of home detention as well as two years on probation.
“It’s really embarrassing,” Enis told the judge. “I feel like I let my family down and my supporters down.”
The athlete dismissed from the Indiana University football team after his arrest, which also resulted in the loss of his scholarship according to the Bleacher Report.
According to court documents, Enis said he was unaware of his victim's age the first time they had sex. However, he did have sex with her two more times after learning she was 13.
Enis currently lives with his girlfirend and their baby.
