Authorities are searching for the person (or persons) responsible for torturing an alligator in Florida. According to Click Orlando, cops say the suspects that gouged the gator's eyes at a Del Monte Foods in Indiantown.
They believe that the alligator was found in the parking lot of the store. The 4-foot gator was blinded—suspects gouged its eyes out with a blunt object—and also had cuts on its back. Authorities believe the culprits also vandalized the store by allegedly kicking out a metal panel in the door, cutting an electrical outlet, removing a fire extinguisher and spraying it over equipment.
Deputies called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the organization was able to trap the gator. The gator was euthanized.
Martin County Sheriff’s Agricultural Crimes Detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying the culprit (or culprits) behind the attack.
