Ava DuVernay has hit her stride and hasn't let up since! Selma catapulted her to new heights, then she moved on to conquer television, and now: a major Disney production, the first of its kind for any woman of color director— a $100 million project.

A Wrinkle In Time is the forthcoming Disney movie based upon a screenplay written by the blockbuster mastermind of Frozen, Jennifer Lee, which will star - who else? - Oprah Winfrey. The screenplay was adapted from the original novel of the same name, written by Madeleine L'Engle, published in 1964.

DuVernay is aware of the milestone she's reached— and from her comment below, it's safe to say that she's far from done.

"Stones in the road? I'll save each one. Then one day I'll build a castle," she quoted of Fernando Pessoa in response to the news going mainstream.
