Azealia Banks Once Slashed Her Sister In The Neck With A Box Cutter

Banks pleaded guilty to attempted assault back in 2009.

Does Azealia Banks have a history of violence? That's what prosecutors are hoping to prove, the New York Daily News reports.

Banks is currently awaiting trial over a 2015 incident in which she bit a female security guard's breast after being thrown out of a night club. Banks is facing assault and harassment charges, and prosecutors are digging deep into the rapper's history to help their case.

During their research, prosecutors discovered and recently disclosed that Banks was arrested in 2009 for slashing her sister in the neck, the arm, and the hand with a box cutter. Banks pleaded guilty to attempted assault but allegedly received special treatment due to her age.

Prosecutors didn't stop there, though; Assistant DA Shea Donato also brought up another 2015 altercation involving Banks and a bouncer, as well as the fight between Banks and Russell Crowe last year.

Banks plans to testify in her own defense at her trial; jury selection is scheduled for Wednesday, while Banks could be taking the stand as early as next week.
