New York’s Finest are looking for a man who was caught on camera beating the tar out of two people who allegedly cat-called his girlfriend. New York’s WPIX Channel 11 reports the attack occurred in the wee hours of Thursday morning. The beating was so severe, it put both men in the hospital.
Police say the two men were drinking outside a market in the Inwood section of Manhattan when they whistled and catcalled a woman they saw on the street. The woman’s boyfriend responded by plowing into them at full speed and raining down a flurry of blows upon them. Video of the incident shows the fury of his beating. At one point his girlfriend tries to hold him back, but he pushes her away and continues administering the beating.
The two victims were rushed to a nearby hospital. According to New York’s Daily News, police said one of the victims was a 69-year-old male, who is currently in critical condition with severe head trauma. The other victim, a 39-year-old male, is in stable condition but was hospitalized with bruising.
The suspect and his girlfriend are described as being between 18 to 20 years old. He was wearing a white polo shirt, gray shorts and white high-top Converse sneakers. She was wearing a gray silk dress and black and white Nike sneakers. NYPD are asking anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
