The 2016 presidential election has been so controversial that it's literally tearing families apart. One man was so angry by Donald Trump's win that he went berserk on his family with a meat cleaver.
According to the NY Daily News, Maurice Braswell of Brooklyn got in a heated argument with his brother, Dwight, about the new President on Saturday. The 49-year-old, reportedly drunk on Hennessy, hit his brother with a chair. He then grabbed a meat cleaver and slashed his mother, niece, nephew and brother. His niece, 25-year-old Shataviah, lost her thumb to the top knuckle as a result of the attack. No one else was seriously hurt.
“They’re always in confrontation, they grew up like that, bickering,” Braswell's mother, Yvonne, said of her sons. “But it’s been a long time since they went this far.”
Strangely, she says neither brother actually voted for Trump.
The culprit has been charged with assault and battery charges, having just completed parole for a 20-year prison sentence for robbery.
