Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington's widow shared a video of Chester on Saturday that was taken hours before he took his own life.
Talinda Bennington prefaced the video with a tweet stating, "My next tweet is the most personal tweet I have ever done. I'm showing this so that you know that depression doesn't have a face or a mood:"
In the video, taken 36 hours before his death, Chester is laughing as he tests jelly bean flavors with his family. The singer ate a “rotten eggs”-flavored jelly bean, which he spit out. His reaction sparked laughter in his child.
“This is what depression looked like to us just 36 hrs b4 his death," Talinda tweeted. "He loved us SO much & we loved him."
According to the New York Daily News, Talinda has become an advocate since her husband’s death. She has been trying to end stigma of mental illness. In addition to that, she has made herself available for fans who have been struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts. She started a "#F--kDepression" movement on Twitter to promote suicide awareness.
"I want to know how you're feeling today," she wrote in one tweet. "Do you need to be lifted up and told you're loved? Or do you want to help up others in pain today?"
Earlier this month, Talinda tweeted out another photo of a happy Chester. He smiled while looking out over the ocean with his children.
"This was days b4 my husband took his own life," she captioned the photo. "Suicidal thoughts were there, but you'd never know #f--kdepression."
