On the heels of a controversial Youtube video, two of the five children living with the parents of the “DaddyOFive” YouTube channel have been removed by police. The Youtube channel has about 762,000 subscribers.
According to the New York Daily News, a court granted temporary custody of Cody, 9, and Emma, 12, to their biological mother. The local county sheriff’s office oversaw the removal of the children from the home on Friday. The parents of the children have been identified as Michael and Heather Martin, Mashable reported.
The Maryland couple created about 300 videos of themselves and their kids, with some featuring the couple yelling obscenities at their children and destroying their toys.
A video posted on April 12 showed father Michael Martin shouting at Cody for spilling ink in the house. In the video, the 9-year-old is brought to tears. That particular video sparked outrage online, according to the report, prompting a public apology from the couple.
In the apology the couple said it has been the worst week of their lives.
"I am ashamed. It started out as family fun. It started with me and my kids,” Mike Martin said in a Youtube video posted last week, “but then it was just about making a video and then making the next video more crazier than the next."
No charges have been filed against the couple.
