The Hangover and Next Friday star, 46, was taken into custody with another man, Thomas Cobb, 52, on charges that they hit a man in town for the NBA All-Star Game.
The victim told the New Orleans Advocate that he was cashing out his winnings at the casino when he recognized Epps, who was in town for a comedy festival.
"We kind of met right there in the middle and I recognized him," the man, who remained anonymous, said. "I said 'Oh, Mike Epps!'"
"The next thing I know, he started hitting me in the face, unprovoked," the man said. "I had a handful of chips, so I just basically bent down to protect myself, and then my friends ran over and got in front of me, and then security got there."
The man allegedly left the altercation bruised and bleeding. Video of the incident reportedly exists but has not been released to the public.
Epps and Cobb were both released on $1,000 bail, but failed to show up for their arraignment. A warrant has been issued for their arrest.
So if you see the famous comedian walking around, call the cops before you ask for an autograph.
