An elementary school teacher in Nevada has been arrested for allegations she had sexual relations with two high school students.
Tennille Whitaker, 40, was arrested Monday after an extensive investigation that revealed she had sexual misconduct with at least two male students over a two year period, according to the Elko County Sheriff's Office. According to a press release from Elko County Sheriff's Office, the two alleged victims were 16 and 18 at the time. Additionally, she was charged with sexual misconduct with employees of the school and volunteers. In total, she received 8 sexual misconduct charges according to the press release. Some of the incidents allegedly took place on school grounds.
The school Whitaker worked at told the Elko Daily Free Press that she was placed on administrative leave with pay pending an investigation.
The teacher was released Tuesday on $160,000 bail, according to the press release.
