A North Carolina father was arrested on charges that he fatally stabbed his 2-year-old and 4-day-old daughter, People magazine reported.
Tillman Freeman III, 30, allegedly took the girls while their mother, Candice Freeman, was being treated at a hospital. Their bodies were later found early Saturday inside a parked car in the woods, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The infant’s name was Genesis Freeman; her older sister was named Serenity Freeman.
Freeman allegedly took the children after apparently getting into a fight with Candice about her fidelity, Sheriff Hubert Peterkin told ABC 11.
“[He] allegedly made accusations about the babies not being his, a child not being his or maybe her involvement with someone, and when he took the kids we understand he left in a rage,” Peterkin said.
The children’s mother attempted suicide after she heard the news, the children’s aunt told ABC 11.
“My precious and innocent babies have been murdered by the one man that was supposed to protect them,” Candice Freeman said on a GoFundMe page raising money for the girls’ funerals.
Freeman added that she also has a son, who is still alive and unharmed.
