A Texas dad fatally shot his wife and 8-year-old daughter before turning the gun on himself in a “senseless” murder-suicide, police said.
Jefferson Stovall, 46, was found dead of gunshot wounds near the remains of his wife Penny, 43, and his daughter MaKenzie. A .44 magnum rifle was also found at the scene.
Sheriff Elmer Tanner said it was “blatantly obvious,” that Jefferson Stovall was responsible for the killings, People magazine reported, but he did not elaborate.
Tanner said that there had been no prior history of domestic violence from the Stovall house, but there was a “presence of alcohol at the scene.” Investigators were not sure if that was a factor in the killings.
No motive has been established at this time, Tanner said.
MaKenzie was in the second grade.
