Dentist Charged With Molesting Teen He Kept Locked In A Cage

Police found a wooden cage in his closet with the teen's name on it. His wife has also been charged with neglect. 

A dentist and his wife allegedly kept a 14-year-old girl locked in a cage in their Indiana home. Alan Friz, 57, is accused of molesting that teen. He faces 26 counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, neglect and criminal confinement, according to the New York Daily News. Aimee Friz, 36, has been charged with 22 counts of neglect.

The pair was was arrested after police were contacted about an “unruly child” at the Friz residence, according to the Dubois County Free Press. Court documents state that the child was described to police as being “mentally retarded.” The Division of Family and Children interviewed the girl who claimed the dentist had touched her breasts on several occasions. She also told investigators a shocking claim: that she was forced to sleep in a cage every night, while being deprived of food and water, WFIE reports. According to WFIE, the victim is the couple’s daughter. The teen claimed that Aimee Fritz, her mother, was aware of the alleged molestation.

When WFIE asked Alan Fritz about the claims he responded, “The Lord is good."

Police obtained a search warrant and discovered that 4 foot by 8 foot wooden cage inside a closet in the Friz home. A label with the girl’s name was attached to the cage, which had a padlock and chain. Inside the wooden cage: a mattress and a makeshift toilet.

Alan Friz has already allegedly confessed to locking up the teen. But, he claimed he had his reasons: to protect the other family members. The dentist claimed the 14-year-old had threatened multiple relatives.

The couple were arrianged on Monday and a judge set bond at $10,000 the wife and $25,000 the husband.
