On Tuesday, a man wearing demonic, white-faced makeup and gloves with knife blades attached to the fingers allegedly slashed and stabbed a man to death in the parking lot of Torchy’s Tacos.
According to the Denver Post, the alleged killer is 36-year-old Chris Gulzow.
Friends and family claim that Gulzow was a lonely man who called himself Christöf Gülzowprüzenstein. According to the Denver Post report, he often went into public wearing demon, vampire, and ghoul costumes.
On Tuesday, Gulzow was riding his scooter when he ran into 29-year-old Brian Lucero. Gulzow allegedly told police that Lucero threatened him and yelled at him “to get out of my alley.” Gulzow claimed the victim attacked him and stole his scooter. However, witnesses claimed that Gulzow was the aggressor.
Gulzow works at a pizza restaurant and is the vocalist for a heavy metal band. He has a son and lives with his mother. A childhood friend told the Washington Post that Gulzow had very few friends and spent most of his time putting on makeup and posting photos of himself on Facebook.
According to the Denver Post, Gulzow’s jail nickname is Diablo. Colorado Bureau of Investigation records show he has multiple convictions including domestic violence, assault and felony menacing with a deadly weapon.
