Indeed, straight, white, male DJs may dominate the EDM scene (while denigrating women), but it is often these dudebros who are involved in the most stereotypical of girly catfights. Take, for example, the most recent Twitter pop off between dance music hot shots Diplo, Zedd, and Deadmau5.
It started last night when Diplo offered some unsolicited criticism of a new Zedd track:
Zedd didn't take too kindly to the critique, responding thusly:
Quid pro quo, Zedd! Diplo responded in kind with a devastatingly nasty retort that has since been deleted. According to Oh No They Didn't, the Diplo double down tweets read, "@Zedd your young and rich and a great musician.. Use that to your advantage.. Don't be such a pompous cornball loser also I f*cked your girl."
"@Zedd you aren't a bad person . I just know you can do better that's all .. I'm just praying for you," he concluded.
(Diplo also later amended his grammatical error with a follow up tweet.)
At this point, the spat exploded outwards, with fellow EDM f*ckboys Nicky Romero and Deadmau5 jumping in:
Hey! Can we get some ladies up in here!? Not just because they tend to be more talented at making music or because we need diversity; someone needs to get over here and teach these manchildren how to behave.
