The Michigan Humane Society is offering a $2,500 reward for information about an abuser who violently removed an adorable dog’s nose and ears.
The brown and tan Rottweiler also had lacerations in its tail and back legs, according to a MHS statement. A person who saw the wounded animal reached out to the animal advocacy group, which rescued the dog and is caring for him in its animal hospital.
“It appears that someone purposely maimed this poor dog, which has caused it a great deal of suffering,” said Mark Ramos, one of MHS’ lead cruelty investigators, in a statement. “This kind of cruelty is unacceptable. We need to be a voice for these animals and as a community we need to speak through our strong actions to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
The reward is offered for anyone who gives information about the person or people responsible for the animal’s abuse, leading to their arrest and conviction. People can report information about this abuse by calling the Michigan Human Society at 313-872-3401.
