Father Calls Police To Report Quadruple Murder Suicide Right Before Killing Himself

He'd made news a year earlier when he'd been reported missing for a week.

Virginia police received a terrifying call yesterday morning — Lance Buckley phoned to report a quadruple murder suicide. What police didn't know at the time was that Buckley himself was the culprit, and that shortly after the call he would take his own life.

Lance (35) had murdered his wife, 30-year-old Amy Buckley, and their children, 5-year-old Claire and 18-month-old Abigail. The young couple was living with their parents in Stafford.

Only about a year earlier, Lance had vanished on his way to work and had gone missing for a week. Amy had pleaded for his return, describing him as the "love of her life." He was eventually found safely in nearby Maryland.

Police did not give any details as to how Lance had taken the lives of his family and himself.

"The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the deaths of four individuals in the Windsor Forest Subdivision in the northwestern portion of the county," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "The preliminary investigation has determined the incident was a domestic related murder-suicide."

The Buckley's parents refused to comment on the situation.
