A 52-year-old Georgia man was shot and killed on the highway while driving to see his two children. It was an apparent road rage incident and the shooter just kept on driving after the murder, according to WSB-TV Atlanta.
The father of the two was identified as Gerald Tisdale. His children are aged 12 and 9.
“It's such a senseless, tragic situation that didn't have to occur,” family friend Paul Preyer said in the report. “He cared a lot of about his family. He adored his children. He was a man of faith, just a really good guy.”
He has been friends with Tisdale for two decades and said the man’s children are distraught.
“They're certainly angry about why this happened and the children don’t quite understand how it occurred and particularly why their father,” Preyer said.
He expressed concern that the shooter could open fire again.
Police said a black Nissan Altima was involved in the shooting, according to the report. It is believed that the car had up to four people in it when someone inside opened fire. Police said they were the aggressors when an argument on the road lead to Tisdale's death.
“For these cowards to do what they did and take these children's father away from them, it's justified and I hope they get what's coming to them,” Preyer said in the report.
Police said the car full of people could all face murder charges.
