A human female's body parts have been discovered in a waste transfer station in the Bronx. Employees at the site found the leg and torso while moving garbage from the location to trucks outside.
According to Pix 11, the facility was shut down as police were called in to investigate at 4:42 a.m. at 287 Halleck Street.
It is unclear if police were able to deduce who these body parts had originally belonged to, but no name has been released as of yet. A medical examiner is currently determining the cause of death and officials are still searching for the rest of the woman's body. According to NBC New York, police will have to search five separate containers of trash in their attempts to locate more evidence: three in The Bronx and two in Kearny.
Police have not made any arrests, but it certainly seems like foul play is suspected.
