After a man complained to staff at an Illinois Starbucks that they had given him the wrong drink, he ended up getting into a wrestling match with another customer, resulting in a stabbing, CBS Chicago reported.
On Sunday afternoon at about 2:30 pm, the first customer, from California, got into a vicious argument with staff over a wrong order, police said, at which point another customer, from Illinois, intervened and asked why the first man was insulting the staff.
"He was upset that his latte was wrong, and so the boy behind him told him to cut it out," witness Kimberly Anderson, who works across the street, told local ABC outlet WLS.
The two men exchanged insults and the California man eventually responded by hitting the Illinois man.
The two wrestled, and the Illinois man reached into his pocket, allegedly to grab a cell phone, he told police. Instead, he grabbed a pocketknife, which opened as the two wrestled. During the struggle, the man from California was cut.
The names of both men were not released by police because both agreed they did not want to pursue criminal charges.
