A Florida man has been arrested for manslaughter after allegedly fondling and fatally punching a woman. According to WKMG, 54-year-old Debra Jost was hit in her face at the Oyster Bay pub in Daytona Beach around 12:20 a.m. Saturday.
Michael Lamothe reportedly walked up to Jost and hugged her from behind while fondling her breasts. Witnesses say she told him to get off her and a man asked him to leave the bar, per authorities. He punched the man and they began to fight.
Lamothe apparently left and returned with another man. Although Jost attempted to close the door, Lamothe punched her in the face. She fell backward and suffered a laceration to the back of her head. Lamothe left the bar with the other man but was arrested shortly after.
He told authorities that he punched Jost because she was coming toward him and threatening him. Initially, Lamothe
was arrested on aggravated battery charges. Jost later died at the hospital and the charges were increased to manslaughter.
