A former teacher's aide has been charged with having sexual contact with a 15-year-old student, who has special needs. 24-year-old Alexandra Culhane is accused of taking the boy to a park in Schenectady, New York and having sex with him.
According to WNYT, Culhane was a teacher's aide at the School at Northeast, which is a school for children with special needs. The student in question attended the school. News 10 reports that Culhane and the student had intercourse and oral sex, per court documents.
The teacher was also a field hockey coach for the Scotia-Glenville JV Girls team in 2015 and 2016.
Culhane is facing charges of rape in the third degree and criminal sex act in the third degree. Per People, the felonies carry sentences of up to four years in prison.
She is expected back in court on July 3.
