Guy's Tweets On Being Told He Can't Adopt Cats Because He's Gay Go Viral For Twist Ending

What an emotional roller coaster.

Talk about cat-fishing.

A man who wanted to adopt a cat was supposedly rejected for being gay—but there might have never been a cat to begin with?

Alex Andreou tweeted the strange story, which has since gone viral with over 16,000 retweets.

It all started after the owner of the cats asked him if he was gay, and Andreou confirmed this.

“I am religious so I strongly disagree with the lifestyle,” the pet owner responded, according to Andreou's tweets. “I am sorry if I hurt your feelings.”

“Darling, I’ve been beaten and called a ‘faggot’ since I was 8," he wrote back. "My feelings are quite robust. And, yes, sorry is what precisely what you are.”

But the owner of the cat still wouldn't desist, texting Andreou “Are you not afraid of going to hell when you die?”

The situation only got stranger from there.

Andreou decided to send another friend to pick up the cats on his behalf, and here's where things got even weirder.

Wow. What do you think—did those cats ever really exist, or is the truth much weirder than that?
