The murder of DNC worker Seth Rich remains a mystery. Washington, D.C. Police tells WJLA that the crime is being investigated as a robbery. Amid countless conspiracy theories and speculations, an independent group of George Washington University grad students has decided to investigate Rich's murder and disagrees with this notion.
The Profiling Project believes the murder is the handiwork of a serial killer. "A proficient killer is what we think, the fact that the killer has gotten away with it for this period of time and that it appears to be a very sanitized crime scene certainly shows some level of proficiency in killing," shares Kevin Doherty of the Project.
The group believes that Rich's murder was not random or a robbery gone bad. They believe to have found an additional surveillance camera that the police may have missed.
The Profiling Project's full report is here.
On July 10, 2016, Rich was found dead. At 4:19am, police heard gunshots and found the 27-year-old's body in a dark intersection. He had multiple gunshot wounds. Newsweek shares that Rich's wallet, credit cards and cellphone were still on his body.
